Chip, I know that you know a great deal about this stuff. My next question is, when is a link a link? I say this because, I've run into an instance where the insert tab list links doesn't see what I think should be a link whereas if I use the h command what I thought was a link is activated. In other words, the list of links command doesn't bring up the item whereas the headings command does. Many listers might recal that I had a great deal of "fun" with the reference usa database. Like the original poster, I learned that I had to use the browse mode to solve part of the problem. In my case, the reference usa database appears to be a dynamic web page that refreshes after you input part of your search. For example, after I search for Medford, Oregon to gather search results, the results actually start out listing businesses in Alaska. While I hate to keep pestering Aaron, I think that I may have to set time out to do so. My investigation finds that the site that I'm talking about isn't merely a Window Eyes issue. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chip Orange" <[email protected]>

the only idea I have is that on some forms, I don't know how they do this,
but what you click on is a link not a button. I know you said "no link" as
well in your post, but I'm hoping you were looking for a button like I do
and missed the link?

Hi Everyone

I am a brand new Window-Eyes user, so I expect some of the questions I ask
will have been answered many times. I could go through the archives, of
course, but that might take a long time, so please forgive me.

I do some surveys online, and one I have just received is behaving rather
strangely. I don't think I can send you the link, as you have to register
with survey providers, so the link will have my ID in it. The first page
comes up with a set of questions, with nice check boxes, but there is no
button or link at the bottom to go to the next page.

I am using IE8, XP Home SP3. Does anyone think I may be doing something
wrong? I am also new to IE8, having just installed it, and I have disabled
tab browsing, as I didn't fancy it.

Any ideas would be welcome.

Wendy
