I have had a couple of queries off list seeking a clarification as to what
a script would do.
So for the benefit of all list readers, here is a clarification.

I have a list of short textfiles with names like these:

ibd.txt
appel.txt
stack.txt
gold.txt
commod.txt

Each of these files contains a list of ticker symbols such as this one
from gold.txt

gld,gll,gdx,iag,auy,nem,bvn,rgld,nem

Ok. So, when the script is invoked with a hotkey, the list of textfiles
is displayed. Hitting the spacebar, the return key, or whatever would
copy the contents of that textfile to the clipboard.

So, to illustrate, say that gold.txt was marked. The list of ticker
symbols shown above from that file would be copied to the clipboard.

I suspect such a script would have far wider use than the stock
application that prompted my question.

Hope that this response clears up things for everyone.
