Hi. My first tip would be to skip Vista altogether and get Windows 7. I
personally feel that Windows 7 will give you the stability of XP and the
look and feel of Vista. I think the look and feel of Vista was its only
redeeming quality. The way the start menu is now an edit box to allow
you to quickly get to things is very nice. As for the defaults with
Window-Eyes, you don't really need to change any as the default will
work perfectly.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
I am looking for any tips and / or tricks on accessing a Vista machine
with WE 7.11 Everyone who knows me knows how much I appreciate the
stability of Windows XP and how much I don’t want to use vista. My wife
and kids got a new PC for Christmas though and they have always counted
on me for support and answers to their PC related questions. As those of
you who have taken the plunge, and I admire your gumption, you know how
different Vista is from XP. Seems like nothing I tell them to look for
is there. So it’s time for me to, as my son, a 15 year veteran of the
U.S. Army likes to say, “suck it up and drive on”.
I am copying my Window Eyes folder to a flash drive and will check the
GW web site for the proper Video driver to download and then jump right in.
I am sure that by the time I give up and come back across the room to my
trusty old XP machine I will have specific questions, but in the
meantime, if you have any heads up insights for me, I would be glad to
have them.
Sincerely,
Donald E. Bowen, Jr.
