Hi,
Haha wow, thanks for the detailed explanation. I didn't know the set to text
and vice versa option was this powerful. This is awesome. Thanks so much.

you have to use set to text and text to set to make this type of change
global.
i would find the default foler and make a copy of the folder incase
something goes wrong you will still have the original set files.
the way i do it:
go to the set file manager then to set to text.
and load the wineyes.000. set file. this will decompress it then use a
destination file name you can remember. i use the txt extension instead of
the w e one so it is easier to find.
this will decompile the set file to a text file. now find and load that text
file into notepad. it will be in the default folder where the set files are
stored in your users folder.

find the punctuation you want to change. then delete all of the lines above
and below the line you changed.
but leave a blank line at the bottom of the line.
save that text file.
now open the w e control panel and find the set file manager. then to text
to set.
load the text file you made in the default folder into the source file edit
box.
use this command line in the destination edit box.
*.0??
then click ok or what ever the button is to compile all the set files with
the changes you made.
if you do it right it will show about 200 set files compiled with no errors.
then close the program and reload wineyes so the changes will be loaded into
memory.

Subject: Punctuation Not Being Retained

Hi Everyone,
I'm new to Window-Eyes and set files. The way I understand it, the desktop
is the "top level" window so any changes made to the set file activated when
I'm on the desktop should have a global effect. When I'm on the desktop and
I hit CTRL+\, I'm in the WE window and the set file as shown by the title
bar is explorer.000. I went into the "Screen" menu and made some punctuation
changes. However, now I have an interesting situation. These changes take
effect in the WE window but otherwise it's as if I haven't even changed
punctuation settings. I also heard that wineyes.000 is the "default" set
file so I've tried making the changes there...still no luck. Is there any
way to change punctuation in one set file viz. the wineyes.000 file and
force WE to apply that change across set files? I'm really confused about
this. . Any help would be greatly appreciated!
