Hi,
Thanks so much for the correction, it was really helpful! If I reinstall W E
and choose not to install any sets, any changes made to wineyes.000 would be
global then right? I'm wondering though if the ALT+1 through ALT+6 keys used to
read message headers in Windows Live Mail would still work or are they tied to
the set file associated with WLM?

Hi!

no, you did not understand it completely.

wineyes.000 takes only effect, when there are no other setfiles for the
application you are in.
So e.g. if you are in outlook express the wineyes.000 set file will not change
anything there, because it has its own setfile.

So if you want to change things globaly, you either would have to change the
setting in each file and save it emedeately.
Or you use the set2text and text2set tool to make settings in all or in
specified files.

  Subject: Punctuation Not Being Retained

  Hi Everyone,
I'm new to Window-Eyes and set files. The way I understand it, the desktop is
the "top level" window so any changes made to the set file activated when I'm
on the desktop should have a global effect. When I'm on the desktop and I hit
CTRL+\, I'm in the WE window and the set file as shown by the title bar is
explorer.000. I went into the "Screen" menu and made some punctuation changes.
However, now I have an interesting situation. These changes take effect in the
WE window but otherwise it's as if I haven't even changed punctuation settings.
I also heard that wineyes.000 is the "default" set file so I've tried making
the changes there...still no luck. Is there any way to change punctuation in
one set file viz. the wineyes.000 file and force WE to apply that change across
set files? I'm really confused about this. . Any help would be greatly
appreciated!
