Robert: I gave that set of instructions to Les, because he asked about that particular option. He may have a Victor Stream and Humanware who makes the product tells their users to use that option of safe to remove hardware before removing the stream or a sd card from a card reader or the card reader itself. I asked a Tech from Humanware if there was any way around the instructions I gave and he said no. I think the tech knows a little more about this than you do. When I installed Windows 7, like Les, I wondered where the icons went from the systray, because I use that option as well for my card reader when removing a card from it.
