I have owned several computers and it seems most of the time IE is not usable because it won't load the buffer and thus I cannot use browse mode.
There doesn't appear to be any rhyme or reason to when this might happen.
I have a win7 64-bit desktop as well as a win7 32-bit notebook and on both IE is basically useless.
Same goes for my Win xp netbook.
However, my Win xp pro desktop at work works just fine.
My old Win XP home desktop wouldn't work either and I had to downgrade to IE 6 which is not an option on my newer machines.
My old Win XP home notebook worked just fine.
If it weren't for Firefox I'd be out of business.
I know browse mode is due for an overhaul but what, if anything, can be done in the interim?
