no problem. glad you got it sorted out. that is what we are here for. is to give people a hand. considering the fact you are an old dos user you should know that you can still use the date and time commands to get this job done if you want in the future. to tell the truth I some times just do it this way because it is faster at times. hth

I have to tell you, Jim, I don't usually have to go to the Windows control panel. You need to know also, Jim, I was still using Dos, that is, (speech only), two years after, when everyone else was using Windows. I had some time before I could learn about it. That is why I don't use Windows very often. I didn't realize that there were two different types of control panels. Now, however, I know it. This morning, I went to the Windows control panel, after pressing the windows key to go to the start menu and then, I could arrow down to the control panel and press enter, and press d from there, and set the clock. I found out that my clock was five minutes slower then it should have been. I set it right and it is corrected now. Thanks for all of the help I have received this week. I have tried several times with the same results. I have had several suggestions from the GW-info list, but nothing works except to go into the sys tray in order to set the time. I have tried this and it works. However, what is the best way to get the computer setting back the way it was so I can just use the letter D as before? I use Windows XP Professional and Window-Eyes 7.11. Thank you. Dave If you reply to this message it will be delivered to the original sender only.
