Hi,

you do not have to use such preinstalled applications on your HP products. You
are free to install
a new fresh copy of windows without any HP applications.
I just installed a HP notebook some weeks ago and you do not need any
additional programs. Just
Windows and some drivers.

Hi Peggy, The reason that WinEyes can't read it is because it is done in
Flash as HP has quite a
few assistant programs that are in Flash and unreadable with screen readers.
Why did they do this? I
have been asking HP about this and of corse the tecks have no idea what I am
talking about and most
probably think that I am crazy. I won't be spending any more cash on HP that
is for sure. Best
Regards, Craig R.

I have an HP computer and it works quite well. The only problem I have is
that when the HP
support thing comes up, I can't read what it says. My sighted husband says
there's text inside a
box, but we don't know why WE doesn't read it.

  Hi,
If Dell is working for you, I would go with that.
I know 2 people who have HP computers and are having trouble.

Subject: QUESTION ABOUT WINDOW EYES AND HP COMPUTERS

I would like to know if any of you are using an HP computer, and if so, how
WINDOW EYES works with
it? I am thinking about getting a new lap top, and I am looking at a DELL and
an HP that look
promising for what I needdin in a computer. The only thing is, several years
ago when I bought a
computer, I tried an HP and WINDOW EYES didn't do well with it at all. But that
was several years
ago, so I'm sure things have changed a bunch since then. I have a DELL lap top
now, so I know a
dell will work, but I was a bit gun shy about an HP because of my past
experience. Thanks for any
advise you can give me on this.
