Absolutely, possitively, undoubtedly, assuredly, unabashedly, and completely correct.

And with no-brainer solutions like casper around, and the roll your own have it your way, dos, windows, and linux solutions completely accessible from terrabyte, and another nice one called drive snapshot, ghost being able to be run from windows or dos with batch files, there just is no excuse for not backing up.

It is the absolute first thing I do with any new computer I get, even before window-eyes goes in.

Because good as window-eyes is, we all know even it can botch up a system and blow up the video chain, yes it can.

I probably don't run images as often as I should, after all, we get busy and we get lazy, but you can bet your sweet hind end I do it at key points, before any major software installation, or major change.

the times I haven't I've regreted it all too often.

But for most of my computers, I have several good working images of installs that are stable, and have most of the stuff I like to work with on it.

It just makes life so much easier.

with the 10 to 15 percent failure of hard drives these days backups and images are a must.

1 click to image and it can be autimated after that say every week with a differential. loose you whole drives with 300 or 400 gigs of data some being registry tweaks etc,
