I think the real questions here should be 1. how
much of the rest of the world uses different
conventions than we do for large numbers? and 2.
have the countries that use different systems for
large numbers been doing that all along, or is
this something recent? In other words: is this
something so widespread that WE should _have_ to adapt to this?
