Your tag line fits here. LOL Betas are not supported thus its use is at one's own risk. Betas are for those who are willing to ferret out bugs and report them.

Far too many will install betas expecting to preview new features and then wonder why things broke.

But I stand by what I said. You dont "update" to a beta. If you understand what using a beta means, and willing to accept the risks, it can be fun. But make sure you backup the system.

Pat, I'm not meaning to be rude, but I really don't see what you find to be such a big deal with xp. I mean you almost seem to come across to me as if you think it's the worst thing sense rats on lasagna.

I'm probably mis-undersrtanding though, and I'd be opened to hear your reasonings. AGain, I don't at all mean to be rude, I just don't understand your reasons. W7 is wonderful, as long as you don't get starter, but, what's really all that wrong with xp. That is what I have on my inspiron, and on my desktop machine, and I have absolutely no ententions of upgrading either, although both would support it if I really did want to.

Chris.
If it ain't broken, don't fix it!

Don't get a netbook with Windows XP or Windows Seven Starter.

Get a small notebook. You can find them.

Get it with Windows Seven Home Premium.

Be sure you get a notebook that is Integrated, and that it can be upgraded.

My little Loving Acer netbook was great, and the sound wasn't too bad, though I'm glad I sold it. <smile>

 Thanks.
