When I am reading something in Window-Eyes and need to pause, I simply press the up arrow and that stops the reading, after which I can again use the ctrl-shift-R command and things start more or less from where they left off. Of course, I usually back up a couple of lines just to refresh my memory on the context. you know, this does sound like it would be very handy, but I don't think it's possible in window eyes. I wonder if I could write a script to make this possible; I'll think about it.
