Actually if I recall the person who experienced the slowdown was using
at the time both Windows Defender and Avast. In the documentation for
Vipre it says to disable the active protection. That makes since
because both Vipre and avast use system resources and there are just so
many to go around no matter how much ram you have.
I find Vipre premium easy to use and works well on my system.

Interesting. I use Vipre on my Windows 7 machine and experience no slowdown

Aloha Neville,
I have used viper, and I found it to slow down my computer substantially.
Here's some food for thought.
Windows Defender works well with Windows 7, and it has gotten good reviews.
I use it as my second opinion, sot of speak.
. My primary protection is Avast, which you needd to renew once a year for
free, and spybot, which is also free.
Good luck.
Aloha,
Manny

I am using Sunbelt premium with no problem using Windows 7 64 bit.
The only thing that doesn't work with Sunbelt software 64 bit is the
file eraser in the tools section but it is not critical in the program.
They are both good programs but I like Sunbelt software a little better.

Hi Listers,
Some comments please.
I intend to move from WXP to W7 32 bit soon. But, because Sunbelt's
Personal Firewall does not function under W7, I need to make a
decision on whether to go for Eset's Smart Security or Sunbelt's
Vipre Premium. Both give spyware, virus and firewall protection.
Having used Nod32 for some time with good results and a license with
over 12 months to go, I am leaning towards Esets Smart Security but
am wondering how accessible it is. Is it any more or less accessible
with WE 7.2 than Nod32?
I also own Sunbelts Counterspy and their Personal Firewall. Both
with over 12 months license hence my interest in Vipre Premium as well.
So, which is the more accessible of the two with WE, but more
importantly, anybody got any thoughts on which is the better
security wise?
Thanks
Neville.
