Or, as I do, put something like three number signs (###). VERY few documents 
will hold that combination from start. Putting your name, is a good idea, as 
well. Main thing is, to have some kind of a combination, that is 
distinguishable from the rest of the text. 

By the way, it works just fine, in things like Notepad, WordPad etc, for all of 
you who do not use Word as your main editor.

  I don't know how to make word do this, but what I usually do when reading a 
long document is put my name at the place where I stop reading.

  Then when I open the document again, I just search for my name, delete it, 
and continue reading.

  Hi, I want to know if there is a way to open a document on the last page you 
were viewing. I have this 24 page document and it is hard for me to keep on 
finding where I left off. If it is not out there already, can somebody right a 
script to make this happen. It should be either where the document opens to the 
last page you were viewing or that window-eyes allows you to put a place marker 
like it does in internet explorer. thank you for reading this! PS, If there is

can download it.
