Hi, I have ran into a need to do just this. One big issue is that some of my clients lock down their workstations so that they can't be edited to include new drivers. A true stand-alone window-eyes would be quite helpful.

The down side is that it requires a restart after the video support files are installed. Personally I would be happy with a Window-Eyes Light. It would be nice to be able to have Window-Eyes come up when inserting a USB memory device without having a restart. I would be happy to trade off some of the functionality that would be lost. Many times I just need basic access to the Windows Utilities, MS Office applications, a browser, and email. When I am traveling and need to use the computer I use NVDA on a flashdrive. I do this because NVDA does not require you to instal a driver in order to run off a flashdrive. I would suggest that GW do the same. This would make it a lot more convenient for many widnow eyes users. Thanks for allowing me to share my thoughts with you all.
