Steve, Congratulations on the new job, I'm glad to hear it. You probably already assumed this, but the fact that the cursor is restricted in their VT-100 emulator doesn't mean it will be restricted in the 3270 emulator since the 3270 cursor is usually unrestricted in terms of movement. I have not used Hummingbird, but I did try the latest version of Reflection and it seemed to be accessible, but it had a lot of other bells and whistles that got in the way. I think I could have streamlined the interface by playing with options, but I found that I could use an earlier version under Windows 7 so abandoned that. I think you may find this to be the case with any of the current versions of commercial 3270 programs, though, as they try to do a lot of integrating Windows apps with the mainframe in addition to being a terminal. You may find that your old version of Extra may be more efficient even if the Hummingbird software is accessible, but it certainly is worth trying. It would be very helpful to know what you find.
