As I understand, Access Solutions intended to use the DEC-Talk that the
blind community was so used to but it had been lost over the years in the
changing of the DEC-Talk name from owner to owner. They tried to recreate it
the best they could with the help of the original designer of the DEC-Talk
voice.
It is interesting to note that DEC-Talk sales to blind people accounts for
a small fraction of total DEC-Talk sales. Most of them go to the Aero Space
industry.
