As follow up, about a day and a half with UIA support turned off on this machine, and not a single crash from using the mouse. Window-eyes is also a bit snappier, it is lugging less. Regarding putty, it worked far better in 7.2. In 7.2 I had the main window set to speak, and although it did not of course track, it was able to automatically read output from changes in vim's status line as well as things like an uptime command.
When I went to 7.5 the performance became intolerably sluggish. If I moved a line down in vim, I had to wait a second or two before I could even read the line. I tradedemail on this with GWMicro support who recommended that I change the window from speak to neutral. This did get rid of the delays in speech each time I move up or down in vim, but completely lost my ability to note any change on the screen. Over all result, I sincerely wish I had kept 7.2 one one of my machines. The performance is bad enough that I am seriously considering removing WE from another machine and re-installing 7.0 from CD. Fortunately, vim under Windows is reasonably well behaved and with a plugin will allow for the remote editing of a file via the SSH protocol. -L On 7/11/2011 3:09 PM, shannon wrote: > To all of you with this problem. > Try the suggestion below and let gw staff know if it helped you out.
