Greetings I just remembered that we had some issues with Office 2003 running on a 64 bit Windows 7 PC last year. This was before Windows 7 SP1, but since then that specific PC was updated to run Office 2010.
The problem was a combination of OS, Office suite, and text to speech software not being all 64 bit systems. Most of the problems were related to the print spooler. Also, the fact that the text to speech software was not true 64 bit, but fudged to work in a 64 bit environment also was a factor. Sorry I can't offer any specific solutions other than to upgrade the software. However this is often not possible in a work setting due to corporate standards. Then again if Windows XP is the OS, then my message is moot.
