Funny, I'm using WE 7.5.2 and Thunderbird 8 right now on Windows 7 64-bit and it works for me. I'm not doing anything special. There are times when I have to press control-shift-tab to the subject line and then control-tab back into the message area to write the message, but that's gotten much less than with older versions of both WE and TB.

For several years now I've been using Thunderbird and while there have been issues, over all and with the passing of time and keeping things updated, the issues have gotten less and less.

Happy emailing.

Yep indeed, point taken though it would be a shame to do that as Thunderbird -
in my humble opinion of course - is the best email client on the planet, only
sorry that the Mac version isn't accessible.

I just can't understand it, Thunderbird for Windows works with every Screen
Reader available except WE.

Or get rid of thunderbird. I'm glad my computer is holding up at home Even
though I have 7.5.2 on it. I'm almost afraid to get a new one because of all
the problems you all seem to be having. At home I still have xp home and
outlook express.

I'm sorry to have to say this but the best suggestion I have regarding
Thunderbird and WE is to stop using WE when using Thunderbird an use the NVDA
Screen Reader, works a treat on all versions of Thunderbird and its free!

               Hi folks
Thanks to everyone's suggestions. It looks like I'm stuck with Thunderbird
3.1.1 for now. I uninstalled Thunderbird 8.0, downgraded to TB 3.1.1 and can
now reply to messages. I've
I'm not using any odd keystrokes at all, I initially used the control shift r
keystroke which replies to everyone, but remembered later that control plus r
replies to the sender. When using thunderbird 8.0, I'm unable to shift tab to
the subject field and the to fields of my message, and when I type, window-eyes
says, not a valid key press, or other messages, as if I was on a web page. It
seems to work with tb 3.1.1 however, which stumps me a lot. I appreciate
everyone's atempts to help, but it looks as if I'm stuck with TB 3 for a while.
I don't mind it actually, but it's that thing where you say, it worked
yesterday, so why doesn't it work today? Also with tb 3 as I mentioned, after
i type a few words, window-eyes repeats back what i've typed. If I upgrade to
TB 8.0 again, i won't be able to reply to a message like I said before.
Thanks guys.
