Sounds like what I experienced when I first tried the Ninite service.
First of all, When going to the Ninite website, tab a couple of times, till
you hit a link that says Windows. Hit Enter here. On the page that now
opens, check the checkboxes for the software you want to include in your
updater. Then, near the bottom, click on the Download now button, or
whatever it reads. (Sorry, I don't have the site up here for the moment.)
When the updater has been downloaded, run it. A few things might be the
reason for your updater not working. What you have downloaded, might not be
a Windows version, but rather a Linux version. This is why, you want to make
sure you are going to download from the Windows page of Ninte. Secondly,
your downloaded updater might have got corrupted, so it is always a good
idea when the things you are experiencing, to retry building and downloading
the updater. Thirdly, make sure your Firewall is not blocking any activity
of the updater. Just because you are able to access the website, and
download the updater, does not mean that the updater has any access to
whichever website it needs, during the updating process. At least, my
firewall called for me to accept some access to the net, through the
updating process. So please, check your firewall for any blocked attempts.
See if any of this, will prove helpful.

Subject: Window-Eyes and Ninite Installer
Hi Everyone,
I can't seem to get Window-Eyes to talk with any of the Ninite Installers
I have selected different programs on their site, and I tell Windows to
allow the app to install, and nothing happens after that. When I go to
delete the installer, it tells me it is in progress. I have been waiting
for one batch of programs to install, since 9:30 this morning. I had
Vernon look at the screen, and he can't see where anything is happening,
but neither did Window-Eyes give me any status or report on anything.
Any suggesions are greatly appreciated, since I heard about Ninite on this
list. <smile>
Thanks much.
Pat Ferguson, loving my new computer with 16GB RAM.
