Pat,
Four things, recognizing that in the end you need to do what is
comfortable for you. If you take text out of a word document with
Notepad++ or other
editor, you lose the ability for Duxbury to do some of the automatic
formatting for you from formatting that is build into word documents.
Second, the
Microsoft converters that Jart needs are probably the free ones and
can probably be downloaded. Third, why not see what you can do with
documents
within Duxbury itself? You don't have to have Word to import a Word
document directly into Duxbury. Finally, and you are probably glad by
this point, if
you have Duxbury and you install Word, I am told that Duxbury will
install some styles right into Word that will let you handle some of
the braille formatting
needs from inside Word. It just seems to me that if you already have
paid the money for Duxbury, which is way more expensive than Microsoft
Office, that
using NotePad++ for this throws away some of the strengths of Duxbury
and I don't see what you are gaining.
Having said all this, I will restrain myself from saying more as there
are obviously things about what you are trying to do that I don't
understand.
Best regards,
Steve Jacobson
