It's not happening anymore.
It did happen in Outlook Express, and I think wordpad as well. May have
happened in others as well, but can't remember anymore.

Hello friends,
I installed my new copy of WE-7.5.4.1 last week, and am troubled by the
fact that my backspace key does not erase either a letter, or when used
in combination with the control key, doesn't erase words. This worked
perfectly in 7.2, and folks at GWM can't figure it out either. Here's
what I have to do when trying to correct an error in spelling. Even
though when I press the backspace key, it speaks the letter or word, it
does not either erase the word or character. So I have to shut down WE
first, then after having placed the cursor in the right place, hit the
backspace key, and turn WE back on, to see that the letter or word was
erased. What a big pain that is. So please help someone out there.
