For some reason mine was a small 35 mb yet it installed correctly. I
upgraded from 7.5.4.1. Installation went plain sailing and everything
appears to be working. But why the small file size and yet you guys had 70
mb or more.

Looks like you downloaded the beta for Windows 8 and not your beta
upgrade.
Your beta upgrade should be around 40mb and the full installer for
Windows
8 should be 70ish mb.
