Carol,
No, I agree but as was stated on this list, Window-Eyes 8 does the best
job on getting field names for controls, especially when the page isn't
tagged correctly. So it is our goal that you don't have to go searching
for fieldnames. But I totally understand there are pages so badly
written that it is nice to scan around the screen.

Hello. I am also a user of the mouse keys (or at least I used to be).
There are many reasons why it is handy to have mouse access. The
biggest one for me is when I am filling out fields. There are still
people out there who do not know how to match their fields and label
names. Therefore, I find it necessary to turn browse mode on, read
the line above and the line below and turn browse mode off.
Hopefully, I will end up in the same edit box. Sometimes I do and
sometimes I do not. With the mouse, I can see what is required and
whether or not I am typing in the correct box. I have had this
problem with both IE8 and FF. Granted, I am way behind on upgrading
my version of FF. It would really be nice to have this feature back.

Hi Doug
Reviewing the screen with the mouse is very useful to me. I can see
well enough to identify text on a web page and then move the mouse
over the text to read it. I find this a fast way to skim through a
web page. If I need to read more than a few lines I turn on browse mode.
The new feature in the WE 8 beta that keeps the screen in sync with
browse mode is a big improvement.
The best would be if I could review the screen with the mouse and be
able to start reading in browse mode from the mouse location.
Thanks

Don,
Sure, I'm not saying it isn't useful but I wanted to see if you had
a certain web page that you just couldn't use or just a comfortable
option you've grown accustom to. Sounds like the latter.
This won't make 8.0 but is on our list.

It is just another way to review the screen. You were able to do
it for so many years and I would have hoped it was there for a very
useful method of reviewing the screen.

Don,
That is correct. Can you give me an example of what you are
trying to
do with the mouse that you can't do without it?
Thanks,

Sorry to say you still can't use the mouse keys to read the
screen in
IE 9. Is this resolved with IE 10?
