Louis,

DECtalk still ships with 8.0 but only those authorized to use it will be able to use it. Since you are authorized, your 8.0 CD will include and be authorized for DECtalk.

Is this what you are asking?

Hi, Marvin.

That is not what I asked. Basically, I was asking if DEC Talk would be
eliminated from my computer if I uninstalled WE 7.5.4.1 and then did a clean
install of WE eight. The reason I wanted to know is because I never use DEC
Talk, and so I would definitely not miss having it there.

And by the way, list. Brenda is Meadowlark--I forget which version number.
And she is prettier than I.

Hi. All of the information posted about this from GW has stated that as a
WE customer prior to 8.0 yu'll have your authorization for DecTalk. You'll
still have DecTalk and Eloquence. New customers will have Eloquence and
Vocalizer. If they wish they could buy DecTalk. We pre 8.0 customers can
buy Vocalizer.

Actually, Robert, I think the option to buy or not to buy the new
Vocalizer
voices is perfectly fair and agreeable. As a Window-Eyes user since DEC
Talk
had been included, I would go even further by wishing that I had had the
option to omit that synth from my purchase.

Am I correct in assuming that since I am already a Window-Eyes user, the
CD
containing my upgrade will not include DEC Talk? If I elected to do a
clean
install of Window-Eyes eight, DEC Talk would no longer be in the list of
available synths?

Dear Raul,

The only difference to me is that those of us who are not new users are
being punished for our loyalty over many years. I am not complaining
particularly - after all, I feel that I have received good service from
you
over the years - but I do not see why new users should get the advantage
of
receiving something free while the rest of us have to pay for it.

Best regards,
Robert

Curtis, you say JFW gives the voices away? Hmm, that's interesting
considering their upgrades are more expensive, they charge you for extra
features of JFW to use, ETC. So, yes, on the surface they might be free,
but
are they really free? That's like a store raising its prices before having
a
sale. In any case, new users of Window-Eyes from 8 and on will have them
for
free. So, what's the difference?

wow!
$39 for all the English voices is a good deal though JFW does give the
voices away. :) the same voices, in fact.

Hi,
Unable to listen to the sample voices. The combo-boxes keep throwing

Using WE8.0 and Internet Explorer 10.
Tried a combo-box on another site and it worked fine.
The site I was trying to listen to the voices was:
