Hello everyone.

I have been amongst those who over the years has reported to the list problems
of Window-eyes instability, so for what it is worth, I thought I'd offer a
different perspective.

My aging Hewlett Packard pc, running Windows 7 has been at the centre of
instability issues which involve Window-eyes, but may not have been caused by
Window-Eyes.

For example: frequent Outlook crashes; inconsistent behaviour of both Internet
Explorer and Firefox; Word and Excel sluggishness; and complete Windows system
lockups.

Sitting in the mix has been an unsolved problem of Windows startup issues -
either failing to start or taking an inordinate length of time.

Finally: my pc went to the service centre, has a new video card, and my
problems have all but disappeared.

I believe that we are struggling with the mix of legacy technology, new user
requirements, and an increasingly more complex computing environment. There
are many variables which we cannot as blind people properly measure, and I
wonder if GW Micro has given thought to some accessible form of diagnostics
database - things to check for when we strike problems. This would be
different to the technical details which are sent via user error reports, and
would not necessarily be knowledge base type articles. It might just be
sufficient to post summaries of bug reports and suggested user solutions, so
that we have renewed confidence that GW Micro stays engaged with customer
experiences.

O.k.: not of itself an easy exercise to implement, but it might offer some
reassurance and it might help us as users ask the right questions or provide
helpful answers.

Vaughan.
