I just remembered Docuscan Plus from Serotek for about $300. There is a
version for Windows, or for the Mac.

Hello.  I've been using OmniPage for many years, and while it's not
perfect, it's a lot cheaper than paying a "blindness tax" for specialty
software such as K1000  Just my thoughts.

They cost around $1000. There are cheaper OCR programs, but I do not
know how well they work with screen readers.

        You will need a program like Open Book or K1000 that can perform
OCR on the image file and convert it to readable text.
