Olusegun,

There were some cases where the layout would become enabled by mistake in WE 8.0, though this problem has been long-since corrected. Control-Alt-0 is indeed a toggle, so once you disable the layout, it will remain off indefinitely.

The Browse Mode commands to move to specific form elements are part of Window-Eyes proper, so the presence or absence of the IKL won't effect your ability to use them in any way.

Regards,
Steve

Hello Steve:
You wrote in part:
"Your front machine likely has the Insert Key Layout enabled (which replaces Window-Eyes commands with others than newcomers might be more comfortable using)."
Is the Insert Key layout enabled by default when running Window-Eyes 8.2?
Is the Control-Alt-0 a toggle switch?
I will say that I like the idea of using X to locate checkboxes, E for edit boxes, C for combo boxes, B to get to buttons more quickly, N for the next readable text. These were not present in previous versions of Window-Eyes; pressing the C key to get to each of these elements took too long. My question then is, if I were to revert back to the old style, will I be able to use the quick keys indicated above to find the elements I need especially on a web page where i need to enter data and such?
Much thanks, take care.
Sincerely,
Olusegun
