Sandra,
Think about it. If the GW-Micro domain is down, they cannot send email to the mailing list, however they can post to facebook and Twitter.

Uh But Aaron, if you can do facebook, then you should be able to do email. You need the internet for facebook. Even I know that.

Why use a local unreliable ISP when you can use a stable service in the cloud some where?

There is no cloud if you can't connect to the Internet. :)

Why release details via facebook and not on your email lists?

Because we didn't have access to the Internet, meaning we had no email. I can, however, use my phone to connect to Facebook, and update people in real time about our current status.

The email lists have been the GW way to release info for years.

Why replace the lists with facebook?

We're not replacing anything. We're supplementing. We also provide updates via Twitter.

Thanks,

Aaron
