Lloyd and Shannon, When I used OmniPage, I also accessed it a lot from inside Microsoft Word. It put entries on Word's File menu that made scanning a document directly into Word very easy. I don't know how that is incorporated with the Microsoft Office ribbon, though, but if such an option is still available, it is a pretty nice approach.
To add a little to what you already accurately stated, when you first get OmniPage, it might be necessary to modify a "Work Flow" to get things to work just as you would like them to work. Once you have the "Work Flow" set up, you will be able to run it from the Process menu as Lloyd has already said without doing a lot of modifying each time. However, seeing if Omnipage can be accessed from within Word and checking to see what Omnipage options there might be on PDF documents from within Windows Explorer as he suggests can save you a lot of time. I also believe that OmniPage still comes with PDF Converter which might still be a separate application. One should check to see if that is the case as well if one is going to convert a lot of PDF files.
