Hi Dave: I have tried Openoffice as well, and have also run into the problem of not being able to read what I typed and, for that matter, any document which I open with Openoffice cannot be read with Window-eyes. If anyone out there has a solution to or a work-around, I'd like to know about it as well. Kevin Huber
