I just tried this on my Windows XP system using Window-Eyes 8.3 and can
not duplicate any of this. I went through the properties dialog just
fine and everything spoke exactly as I would expect. It sounds like you
may have OSM corruption. What if you press insert-backslash and try it
again in the areas you mentioned?

versions of window eyes.
I don't know if this happens in windows seven, but it sure does in xp.
