I would have the person reboot and see if the problem persists.  If it does, it 
probably is worth uninstalling and reinstalling 
again.  The read current line hot key should work without reassigning, but it 
would be worth checking to be sure that CONTROL 
NUMPAD CENTER is being pressed and not SHIFT NUMPAD CENTER since that will say 
CENTER.  Looking at the Hot Key list would be a 
good idea to be sure that it is assigned.  If it is assigned and he hears 
"Center," then there may be a keyboard issue.

Be sure that he isn't reacting to the fact that when you look at the hot key 
list that many are undefined.  It is normal that many 
keys in the list are not defined as many are not used by all applications or 
users.  They are there to be assigned if needed, not 
to be assigned at all times.  There are too many to be assigned at all times 
without causing keyboard conflicts.  .
