I am experiencing the same frustrating issue and I find myself using the
free opposition more and more. Already on my laptop I am only using the
free opposition. In fact, it is only the Window-Eyes apps that act as
golden handcuffs tying me to Window-Eyes, otherwise I would have moved
over to the free opposition some time ago already. As more and more
addons become available for the free opposition, I can see that
happening in the not too distant future, unless Window-Eyes becomes
substantially more stable. Honestly, they can no longer make the claim
of "rock solid stability".
I have been a loyal Window-Eyes user ever since it saw the light of day
in the early '90s, but I am more than casually looking at alternatives now.
I have yet to see the free opposition crash or lose speech. That is what
I would call "rock solid stability".
But the first prize would be that Window-Eyes becomes the good, reliable
program it used to be.
Kind regards
Christo

I've noticed that more and more Windoweyes seems to be locking up in
various programs. I'll either alt-tab too quickly away from a screen
or for no identifiable reason, WE using Windows-7 locks up and the
only way to get it back is to turn off my computer. Perhaps it's the
complexity of Windows-7, but I don't rmemeber this behavior being
nearly as frequent under XP.
I'm fed up and about ready to go to "the dark side" to see if that
program is any better.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem?
