In addition,  there's a similar app from GW named appGet (and I prefer appGet).

AppGet is supported (I don't think Jamal is supporting Install Packages or any 
of his numerous other apps any longer), it divides the apps into categories, it 
shows you user comments as well as ratings (and allows you to add comments or 
ratings).  The comments are a very under-utilized feature (for instance, they 
may tell you when some other app should be considered instead of the one you're 
looking at).

You can download and install the "Install Packages" app.
The default hotkey is control-windowskey-i.  If you press that key you
can get a list of all apps, new apps which are not installed on your
machine, or apps which have updates.  You change this setting by
tabbing to the option you want and then checking it.
