Well normaly I would agree with you about the del. I used to build computers and work on them. del computers were a major pain in the a**, to work on and repair. That being said this was in the past. This del is amazing. I didn't buy jaws to figure out what it would do on a touch device. That is what the demo was for. Right now NVDA works on a touch screen as well as narrator. I was shocked to find that narrator really does shine on a touch device Microsoft deserves points for this one. NVDA works very well also on a touch device. The reason I tried all three was to get a scence of what each one was doing right here and what each one was doing wrong. I felt that a fair evaluation of the three was in order to attempt to come up with good concepts to prevent to my favorite screen reading company gw micro of course. I wouldn't say leave android and apple behind. I don't think we as blind people can afford to be tribal we have to know and understand what is out there and how it works for us. In some cases to come up with ideas for the product we do choose to work better in other cases we have to know to make life changing choices. For example I had to get a smart phone back in 2012 well windows phone wasn't an option and android was on ice cream sandwidge and the system they were using at that time would have never worked for me. I don't really like apple all that much to tell the truth mainly because I don't like apple hardware never have, but apple was the best choice for me at that time. I never liked del, but after looking at all the options out there this del tablit once again was the best choice for me at the time I maid the choice. It also helped that the nice people at the Microsoft store let me go in and play with it put NVDA and a dimo of window-eyes and jaws on it and let me play with it. they also knew quite a lot about screen readers braille displays and the like. Then I walked over to the apple store and the people there showed me the new Ipad. They had no idea about anything related to accessability the triple click home feature was not set up if I had not a sighted person with me I would not have been able to demo the thing. I also looked at the surface pro but it was out of my price range and I wanted something about the size of the nexus 7 witch as you know I have. If you have one around you go in to the Microsoft store with window-eyes NVDA and yes jaws and see if they will let you play with the tablits there and decide for your self what is best for you. Don't disregard the del just because it is a del. Try them all. the Microsoft rep at the Microsoft store had nothing but good stuff to say about the del. I don't believe it was just because he was paid to do so. The reason I say this is he had nothing but bad things to say about windows phone and thought the surface rt needed to go away. And as you know both windows phone and surface rt are Microsoft products.
