Well, maybe NLS should get their act together and listen to Windows
Users, and make a Bard App for Windows tablets.
Thanks much.

They are supposed to be working on the Android app, that is if it
hasn't already been released. I'm not sure since II 'm an iPhone
user. I just heard the person in charge of the app development at
the NLS talk about it. There was no mention of a Windows app.
I think the issue is that they might not consider that blind users
of Window's tablets exist. Since Windows phones aren't exactly
accessible I think it may not have occurred to the NLS that there
are other Windows devices that can be accessible.

I thought the Kindel App for Windows was pretty good.
I sure hope that the Bard App would be made accessible for Windows
computers soon.
That's one reason why I want a Windows Tablet with a Bluetooth
Keyboard running Window-Eyes.
Thanks much.

Ok gw micro we want touch we want touch we want touch come on every
one say it loud say it proud we want touch. I love my venue from
del. I have been using it exclusively as a touch device will
connect a keyboard and install window-eyes on it. for my money
windows is always going to beat IOS as a computing platform. I
also think gw micro needs to hurry up with touch because if I am
reading the signs right it looks like we might have a phone
running windows pro. I will be all over that if that happens.
If it does maybe gw micro should talk to carryers offering the
phone and see if they will offer window-eyes on a payment plan
along with the phone it self. Narrator is getting better and NVDA
is pretty good but window-eyes still has them beet in most places.

Hi,
Simply put, Window-eyes runs on Windows 8.
A Windows 8 tablet that Window-eyes can run on is just a computer
running the full Windows 8, IE, desktop apps you have been running for
years and are used to work fine.
On my acer, I'm running Window-eyes 8.4 with traditional desktop apps
such as Microsoft office 2013, Chicken Nugget, MaPlEr, and even my
livedrive backup software.
I'm not able to interact with the touch screen, but a bluetooth keyboard
works just fine. My Acer even came with the bluetooth keyboard. I do
not have a Braille display but don't see why Window-eyes wouldn't work
with a bluetooth or usb display if configured.
Again, Window-eyes will not run on tablets running Windows RT. Windows
RT does not run on in tell based tablets nore does it have the full
desktop so traditional desktop apps will not work.
Hope this helps.
Chris

I think this is interesting, as I have now just committed to a new

But: this configuration opens up the decision for me as to whether
Windows Tablet compares favourably with iPad?
If Window-eyes braille input modes were more sophisticated, I
wonder if a braille display could double as an external keyboard?
Current conventional wisdom from my perspective does actually
favour the iPad, but I know nothing of Windows tablets as it was
my understanding until now that Window-eyes could not run.
Appreciate more information on this.
Vaughan.

Hi,
Window-eyes works fine on tablets running Windows 8 or Windows 8 pro.
These are Intel based tablets. Window-eyes will not work on
tablets running Windows RT.
Also you'll need an external bluetooth keyboard as Window-eyes
doesn't work with the touch screen.
I'm currently running Window-eyes 8.4 on an Acer tablet.
