I don't know. I just tried using NVDA and saw nothing. But I'm a few
versions behind with NVDA because I never use it. Did they add an OCR tool?

It's because the banner is an image with no alternative text. The alt
tag is there but it's empty, i.e. alt="". That's all they have to
change to make it visible to a screen-reader.
