Before deleteing programs make sure you know they are not needed. There are
many files in your autorun that are Microsoft files. It takes some time but
if you google each file you can find out which one is not critical.

Hi Jed,
The culprits are many,
Such as c cleaner or defrag set to run on boot up.
I would suggest the following:

1
turn windows update from automatically download and install all updates to
automatically download but let me choose what to update
2
go to task scheduler and brows around to see what programs are running and
when And delete the programs you don't want to run.
warning!
now make sure
that window eyes is following the mouse pointer by pressing minus on the
numpad If you do not know the difference do not continue any further and
disregard the next suggestion!
3
download the autorun
here is the direct link:
http://download.sysinternals.com/files/Autoruns.zip

just unzip the file
then run the autorun exe file program
then
control f
type
not found
enter
then press
insert plus on the numpad
which brings the mouse to the highlighted file then press 5 on numpad you
should hear what file was searched for but not found now right click and
arrow down to delete and enter press control shift w to hear and confirm
what is being deleted if you are sure then enter on ok press f3 and repeat
the steps above until not found is no longer found.
Now go through all the files being run automatically when you start your
computer.
I would guess that you have over 100.
I cleaned my brothers computer, and when I started he had 255 files starting
automatically.
When I was done, he had about 100.
If you are not sure do not delete anything! Bang!- Good luck, Manny If this
helps, you can thank me by checking out my stand-up comedy performance
