Hello Jed, Bad news! You are likely to have a bunch of spyware and other stuff bogging down your computer. It's very difficult, often even impossible, to fix the problems yourself, even if you have good antivirus and antispyware installed. Let me suggest, as I do to my friends and neighbors, bring your computer to the Geek Swad at Best Buy and let them handle the mess. (It's a very good investment to purchase their service contract; it covers 3 machines and most problems.)
My wife's computer had boot-up lags and System Restore failed to work, the geeks remove 113 infections of various types. Good luck, Peter Duran -----Original Message----- From: Jed Barton [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Jed Barton Sent: Thursday, March 13, 2014 11:19 AM To: [email protected] Subject: computer taking for ever to start Hey guys, Alright, trying to troubleshoot some stuff here with windiw-eyes. My computer, which is a decent machine, takes over 4 minutes to get to a full desktop. This seems way too long. Any ideas of things to check? I went in to msconfig, and all appears ok. Any other good places to check? If you reply to this message it will be delivered to the original sender only.
