Hi Butch, This happens to me all the time. My solution is to shut down Adobe Reader, re-open it using the desktop icon, and then open the File menu, and down arrow until you find its file name at the bottom of the File menu. It will usually have a one beside it since it's the last file you opened; then the file will load properly, including the usual prompt asking you how to read it, et.
