Rod, I tried this and it did not work. However, I have had some success in
the past when I had the Adobe reader open with the file I wanted to convert
by using the print command and sending the file via Adobe to my Freedom
Scientific Openbook program/printer. This seems to do a better job of
converting than just trying to use Openbook or Adobe by themselves. Not the
most satisfactory solution and it does often produce a mostly readable file.

Hi Butch,
This happens to me all the time. My solution is
to shut down Adobe Reader, re-open it using the
desktop icon, and then open the File menu, and
down arrow until you find its file name at the
bottom of the File menu. It will usually have a
one beside it since it's the last file you opened;
then the file will load properly, including the
usual prompt asking you how to read it, et.
Hth,
Rod

Subject: reading pdf files
Hello, when I try to open a PDF file in adobe
reader, the program seems to start to process the
document, but then it gets stuck at a certain
percent and stops. Then when I try to arrow up and
down, window eyes just says top bottom, top
bottom. Can anyone explain how I can open this
file in Adobe reader? Thanks.
Butch
