Hi Grant, I'm not sure we're speaking of opening the same type of PDF. My solution is based upon the assumption that the PDF contains text; it seems to me that you are speaking about performing OCR on PDFs containing only image files. Correct me if I'm mistaken.

However, I have had some success in the past when I had the Adobe reader open with the file I wanted to convert by using the print command and sending the file via Adobe to my Freedom Scientific Openbook program/printer. This seems to do a better job of converting than just trying to use Openbook or Adobe by themselves. Not the most satisfactory solution and it does often produce a mostly readable file. My solution is to shut down Adobe Reader, re-open it using the desktop icon, and then open the File menu, and down arrow until you find its file name at the bottom of the File menu. It will usually have a one beside it since it's the last file you opened; then the file will load properly, including the usual prompt asking you how to read it, et. Then when I try to arrow up and down, window eyes just says top bottom, top bottom. Can anyone explain how I can open this file in Adobe reader? Thanks.
