As I indicated to you before. If you are not sure of your serial number, give our orders department a call and they will be happy to give it to you. Currently it's not possible to retrieve the serial number from the unit since that would require changing the way firmware is installed. Once you have your serial number, you can rename the bs-info.txt file to the serialnumber.txt so you can have it on hand any time you want. the bs-info.txt file contains things like your mac-address, the hardware and software version as well as contact information.

Hope you understand now. <grin>.

Many thanks.

I don't understand. Since I'm not quite sure if I read the serial number correctly, I don't quite understand what you mean. There should be a way of retrieving it through the notetaker itself, rather than just relying on the braille embossment which, in my case, is somewhat erased and illegible. Perhaps it should also be provided, in braille and print, on a separte card inside the shipping box.

Thanks.

Better yet. Perform the save in the help/info dialog box. This places a text file in the root of the flashdisk. Go rename the file to yourserialnumber.txt and you get it all in one shot.

Another justification, is that one wouldn't have to remove the Sense from the case to read the Serial Number. Now, I would like to suggest that one could easily put a file in the format of one's choice in the root directory of the Flash Disk with personal identification such as name, address and phone number, etc. plus the Serial Number of the unit. The MAC is already provided in a couple of places as well so one could copy that information into this file as well.

Hello Don. I've passed this along.
Many thanks.

Raul,

How about the idea of including the serial number in the help menu
under the "information about" topic.

Certainly not a critical issue, but might be good for a future addition.

Don

As others said, look for the serial number underneath.

How does one call up the serial number of a particular BS Plus? Thanks.
