Well, I think I do the same as you, and my network is connecting
just fine:
I turn wireless LAN on.
Go to utilities and then to setup internet and then to wireless
LAN.
I then hear access point, add new, 1 of 5 and so I press enter on
the add new, as I have my network SSID broadcast turned off.
Then, in my case, I enter my network name, change the data
encryption to WEP, uncheck the box that says the key is provided
automatically, enter my network key and leave the other settings
at their defaults.

Subject: [GWN] VS and wireless.
I activate wireless. It says wireless lan on. But, I don't get
the connect double beep. When I go into Internet set up and to
wireless lan, it says that there is no profile. when I try to
add one, it says wireless lan is not connected.
My EEE PC, can see the wireless alright.
Has anyone encountered this, and what can I do about it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
