We do not recommend the reset button be pressed for more than 3 seconds.
Doing so could cause you to lose your settings. If you just need to
reset Braille Sense, press and release the reset button quickly. If you
need to restore the factory defaults, use the revive method.
Many thanks

Hi Mike:
Regarding the rest button on the BSP (Braille Sense Plus) restoring/not
restory factory-set defaults: I've noticed that if I press the reset
button on the BSP quickly, the current settings in the options section
are retained. However if I press the reset button a bit longer it does
restore the factory-set defaults. I don't know why this happens, but I
would prefer the factory-set defaults not to be restored!

Thank you for the reply.
When this began happening, I checked many settings in the option
dialog that I thought might cause this problem. I didn't find anything
unusual. I normally have the display of control characters turned on,
but turning this off didn't make a difference. I'm also using the
original reading mode, and trying compressed mode didn't change anything.
However, I did uncover an interesting fact. I remembered an old
sequence I used to use on the Braille Sense classic to do a cold
reset. This still works on the Plus. When I did the cold-reset and
restored my settings, the problem went away. So I guess the
bottom-line is that if it comes back, do a cold reset. Perhaps
pressing the reset button when a website won't load leaves the browser
in a strange state.
Also, in reading the troubleshooting section in the help facility, I
noticed it says that the system resets to factory settings after
pressing the reset button. As I've had to do this a few time, I know
this isn't true--the settings I had been using haven't changed.

Subject: Re: [GWN] Braille Sente plus: Periodic braille display
problem in web browser
Hello. I went to the acb.org web site and found the page you mentioned
in this post. I do not see the control-l character. Did you change any
of the default settings, and did you have any specific settings you may
not have mentioned here? I am not able to reproduce the problem you
describe with either a Braille Sense Plus or a Voice Sense with Sync
Braille.
Many thanks.

Hello list,
I've been having a problem reading text in the Braille Sense plus
web browser where a $l control character shows at the beginning of
the line, and the system will not scroll forward from that line
unless I push a routing button to the right of the $l.
For example, I'm on the acb.org site and I'm reading the officers
and board members page. I get stuck at this line:
$l Pasadena, CA
If I press a routing button over a character to the right of the $l,
the $l (on the left of the display) goes away and I can scroll a
little more until I see another line beginning with $l. At this
point I cannot scroll further until I again press a routing button
to the right of the $l.
If I do chord-g and listen to speech, the system scrolls along as
expected.
Also, there are no problems when moving the braille display through
links--it just seems to involve reading text.
Unfortunately I don't know if this is a consistent problem since I'm
not using the browser enough. But I've not seen this behavior in any
other application except the web browser. I've done warm resets, but
the problem persists. I don't know how to do a hard reset on the
Braille Sense plus.
