If you use the words that you sent in this list, words like begin, behind,
beyond, being, etc all have the BE as a syllable, the other words you
mentioned do not have the first two letters as a syllable.

Subject: [GWN] GRADE 2 AND VS

1. Can any of you grade 2 pundits explain why words like best, better, beep,
and beer do not use the lower b contraction at the beginning of the word but
words like begin, bemuse, and besot do use the lower b contraction?

2. When I use a comma OR PERIOD after the en contraction (dots 26), the VS
does not say the word "enough" but just says en. Does anyone know why?

Thank you,

Steve
