The Address book, no last name, no entry for you.
The address book application does not allow for entering information for a person without something in the last name field. This creates a problem for several of my old contacts from an old address book from an old note-taker. What do I do with entries like Massachusetts Attorney General, and American Printing House for the Blind. Is "blind" the last name of American printing House for the? Is "recording" the first name of the organization called Recording for the Blind and Dislexic? If so, then, what is the middle inicial? These entries above are just a fiew examples of the dilema created by the refusal to create an entry without a last name. What if a possible business contact only tells me their first name. How do I create an entry for George, and Emily, if I don't yet know their last name? My suggestion is to let users make and save entries with either a first name, a last name, or both. It is increasingly more common to call your business associates by their first name, anyway.
